Super Bowl 51. Half Time. The Falcons are up 21-3 against the Patriots.

Lady Gaga begins her performance, to the crazed wonder of her fans, from the roof of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The stars sparkle brightly behind her. But wait, the stars are moving, they’re changing colors, those can’t be stars! Lady Gaga employed 300 drones, powered by Intel, to create patterns and images in the sky behind her. However, that was just the beginning. She then jumped from the roof to be lowered onto the stage by nearly invisible cables. Three outfit changes and a five songs medley later, Gaga left fans in an uproar with an epic mic drop.

However, as awesome as the Pepsi Halftime Show was, everyone thought the game was over before it even started. Everyone, except the New England Patriots that is. In what seemed to be a finished ball game, Tom Brady brought his team back from a 25 point deficit.

Heading into the first-ever overtime, Brady racked up 466 passing yards, the most of any Super Bowl. Three downs later the Patriots had won the game and Brady had his 5th ring. “That’s more Super Bowl rings than any other quarterback in NFL history… and the most Super Bowl MVPs of any NFL player ― period. Among all current and former players, only Charles Haley, a former defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, now holds as many rings as Brady,” according to the Huffington Post.

Fans were ecstatic, fans were outraged, and everyone was definitely talking about this game.  Super Bowl 51 will go down in history, and live forever in our memories.

Exciting New Projects Take Flight During Family Fun Day

 April 17, 2017 | Amanda Crawford

Established in 1947, Cho-Yeh Camp and Conference Center is a premier,

accredited Christian camp and retreat center in Livingston, TX.  The name                                                                                     Cho-Yeh comes from the local Alabama-Coushatta Indian language and                                                                                         means "land of tall pines."

Camp Cho-Yeh has a full-time staff of over 25 people and a summer staff                                                                                       of over 200 counselors & support staff. All of whom are dedicated to being                                                                                   safe, having fun, and helping others grow deeper in their relationship with                                                                                     Jesus Christ. Our campers and retreat guests come from all walks of life,

denominations, and other organizations to enjoy our facilities and programs.

For many years, Cho-Yeh has been a place where both young and mature                                                                                       have grown in their faith and character. As you can imagine, the camp                                                                                           has changed and grown in many ways during its lifetime. This summer,                                                                                         during its 70th year, Cho Yeh has lots of improvements to be excited about!

"I have seen it change a lot over the years,"said Kasey Crawford, summer                                                                                       staff since 2010. "We've had new buildings, we've had new locations, new                                                                                     activities, I've just seen it change a lot. It's really grown way, way, bigger                                                                                       than I thought it ever could. What I love most about all this new growth and all these new experiences, is that we can bring in new people. It's still the same atmosphere, it's still the same love of Christ, it's still the same Christian atmosphere that I've known and loved. So, every time I come back, yes it's grown, yes it's a lot bigger, but we can just bring in more people to that Cho-Yeh family."

The newly purchased Lighthouse Point features more than 6 acres, and 1200 ft of waterfront, 130' of shaded beach, a boat dock with 3 lifts, and lots of play space. This location is sure to provide an incredible waterfront experience for Cho-Yeh campers and guests. With a 6000-sq. ft. lodge we can accommodate as many as 50 guests. The house will be available for retreat groups throughout the year, and will be utilized for staff housing and special events during summer camp. Just 15 minutes from camp, this property sits on a southern shore of Lake Livingston where the conditions are perfect for banana boating, stand up paddle boarding, fishing and more!

Our pool has received a complete makeover! We resurfaced the old pool and

added an awesome new feature, the wet bubble, and shade structure.

We have renovated the old Walnut Hill tree houses, who needed lots of love.

We have also added a new lake with an amphitheater overlooking the water, a

new yurt village, and a brand-new Meeting Hall, Oak Ridge.

The last new construction on camp is the new trading post. Located in the heart

of camp, this 3,500-square foot building features a lounge, concessions, and is

the new place to purchase all of our well-loved merchandise. T-shirts, flashlights,

and loads of cho-bears are being unboxed daily and are now waiting to go to their

new homes in the arms of joyous campers.

"We have all been working really hard to get moved into our new building,"

said Ashtin James, Cho-Yeh Waypoint intern. "It has definitely been a team effort, but we are

so excited to have our opening!"

A far cry from its original home in the tiny building near the office, the new trading post has high ceilings, light walls, and plenty of room for fun. Tired campers can stop in and buy brinks and snacks from the concessions and take a little time to recharge in the large lounge area. With its rustic furnishings and coffee-house feel, this building is sure to be the must-be place this summer.  Our crews have been working nonstop these last few months and now, the wait is almost over.

If you are excited about the new improvements to your favorite summer camp, or are looking for a new place to have fun, we have the perfect opportunity coming up!  Family Fun Day is the perfect time to come hang out. Bring the whole family to camp for an incredible way to experience what Cho-Yeh has to offer. Climb the rockwall, scream down the zip-line, fly off the blob, or simply hang out and enjoy the beauty of camp. You can even take a tour to learn about the campground and see all of our new construction projects, with groups leaving from the Cho-Dome starting at 1:30 pm. There will also be opportunities throughout the day to tour our brand new property on Lake Livingston, Lighthouse Point! Activities to enjoy include the adventure park, climbing tower, zip-lining, crate stacking, the blob, waterslide, lake activities, archery tag, the giant swing, and many more! Whatever you choose to do, it's going to be a blast! It's a free event and there's no need to register, so bring some friends to join in the fun with you. This year Family Day will be April 23, we hope to see you there!!
